Fuji X, the image making tool!
Although I'm guilty as well, I still find it amusing when I read complaints from some new comer to the Fuji camp about not getting what he wanted from the latest firmware update or that Fuji should have included them in the camera when launched! Some of them write that their camera won't do this or that and others will insist that firmware updates are proof of a premature product, even though both groups were happy to buy the camera without those features in the first place!
Each and every camera ever built is a compromise and the X series is no different. What is different is that the X series from Fujifilm have soul! They inspire the user; they bring him back to the roots of photography and like it or not, slow you down and make you think of what it is you are creating.
Not a Nikon D800
A 9 step bracket missing the +4 shot. These were used to get the painterly HDR look below.

* 1/300sec f/5.6 ISO 400 Exp.Comp: 0
* 1/160sec f/5.6 ISO 400 Exp.Comp: +1
* 1/80sec f/5.6 ISO 400 Exp.Comp: +2

The bracketing process
If you need more, something like 6 exposures do the following: Go to minus -2 on your Exposure Compensation dial and take your 3 BKT shots, then to plus +2 and take another 3 BKT shots. This will give you 6 bracketed shots from -3 to +3 minus the correctly exposed shot in the middle of the bracket which in most cases is not really necessary anyway.
If you want the correctly exposed shot as well, then do this: Take the 3 exposure bracket at -2EV and then another 3 exposure bracket at +1EV. Now you'll end up with frames from -3 to +2 which includes the correctly exposed frame.
If its a 9 exposure bracket that you are after, then repeat at minus -3, at 0 and at plus +3 for a total of 9 frames. Just make sure you have BKT/Adv.SETTING>BKT SELECT> set to AE and that its set to a full stop (+/-1stop) difference.
